Scar tissue/granulomas after lip filler - are kenalog injections my only option?

It has been years since I have had any juvaderm injections into my lips. Unfortunately I have some underlying autoimmune issues and I now have a lump on my lip after all the filler has dissipated. I’ve consulted with a plastic and a derm who said kenalog injections are my only option now but could leave me with even less desireable results. I am devasted I’ve ever injected my lips and totally jealous of people who do with no issues. Don’t know what I should do.

We know that dermal fillers actually hang around considerably longer than we originally thought - up to 9 years on MRI scans.It may be that this is actually still some residual filler. If any local practitioner has access to ultrasound they may be able to scan the lump and filler is usually obvious. If it is residual filler then the enzyme that breaks it down - hyaluronidase - may well help
