Which is better for smoothing after BBL, a Halo treatment or micro peel?

I have had 4 treatments to get rid of redness from pokiloderma. I now would like to smooth the skin as I noticed there re no wrinkles after the procedure. Hitch is better to smooth out skin the halo or a micro peel with Scinton bbl? My dermal has the Scinton machine that is what he used to treat my redness.

Halo for sure.  Usually patients need a series of treatments to get the best results on fine lines, texture and sun damage.  4 days of flaky and red skin is expected afterwards.

Thank you for your excellent question. Poikiloderma has a few aspects about it that require a multi-modal approach. It seems as though you and your physician have addressed the first portion of it, the redness. The second component and what gives the skin a "chicken plucked" appearance is thinning of the skin. The best approach to treating this thinning is fractionated resurfacing. Halo is a fantastic option because it combines a non-ablative 1470nm wavelength with a 2940nm ablative wavelength. Together, these serve to improve nearly all aspects of poikiloderma by stimulating new collagen growth in the deeper portions of the skin, improve sun damage and also help with pigmentation and microvasculature. Hello Zelda!
This is a great question! Although a Microlaser Peel with a Sciton laser will improve texture and help you start to smooth out your skin, the Halo Laser by Sciton is going to give you a nicer overall result. The Halo is a more aggressive treatment that will typically deliver a better result with just one treatment. If you decide to go with Microlaser Peels instead of the Halo Laser, I would recommend you do a series of at least 3 Microlaser Peel treatments.
