I had vbeam procedure done which caused pencil eraser sized purple bruising. I was surprised because the veins that were hit seemed to be much smaller than the size of the growing bruise. It looks like the bruises are starting to turn a brighter red than the veins originally were. How is this possible?! I am worried that it is going to take ages for these marks to disappear even though the doctor said about 10 days. Is it 10 days for the purple to fade or the marks altogether? Thanks in advance!
Answer: Possible to avoid bruising with the vbeam Bruises take a variable amount of time to resolve, averaging between 1 to 2 weeks. It is possible to avoid the circular bruises you described by judiciously choosing the settings. However, certain conditions like spider veins and birthmarks require purpuric/bruising settings for effective treatment.

Answer: Vein Treatments and Post Treatment Bruising Vbeam and other vascular lasers do carry a bit of a wallop; this is necessary to seal off the vessels you want to get rid of. Bruising is possible-to-probable and generally occurs less in subsequent treatment of the same area. You can help reduce the level of bruising by following some pre and post care guidelines.Refrain from supplements that thin your blood, unnecessary use of anti inflammatories and aspirin (unless prescribed by your doctor). Arnica is easy to find in the health food store and many patients find it very helpfulIcing afterward can help as well as staying out of the heat, sauna or hot tub. Some women are more prone to bruising during their period. If you know you tend to bruise easily, this is something you need to share with your dermatologist so the treatment can be adjusted.

Answer: Time is Your Healer V-Beam is the gold standard for addressing vascular (red) lesions. It is perfectly normal to get the purpuric response you did from your V beam treatment. Depending on the extent of your blood vessel issues and the energy used to treat your symptoms as well as your general health, it can take 2-3 weeks for the bruising to be totally healed. I understand your concern in the short term but I would bet that you will be delighted with the outcome in the long haul.

Answer: Bruising after VBeam Sometimes after VBeam there is purpura. The VBeam Perfecta does this less. I should last about 10 days. Sometimes using the VBeam again can help this. This should be of no concern. I like the Excel V now over the VBeam.
