Weight gain right after BodyTite. Is this normal?

I did Bodytite on my thighs without suctioning the fat. The 3rd day after the procedure my weight was increased by 8 pounds without eating more. After 4 months i still weight 5 pounds extra. Is this normal? I am 51 years old (not in menopause) and I have normal weight (5 feet 4 and 130 pounds).

Since BodyTite is a body shaping treatment rather than a weight loss surgery, it is important to maintain a stable weight to preserve the body contouring achieved with the procedure. While some weight gain following a BodyTite procedure is normal due to initial fluid retention during healing, gaining significant weight after the procedure is not normal and will diminish the results of the procedure.

Weight gain immediately after BodyTite or any similar procedure is not uncommon and can be attributed to several factors:

Fluid Retention: After BodyTite, the body may retain fluids as part of the healing process. This can temporarily increase your weight.

Post-Surgery Swelling: Swelling is a natural response to surgery and can lead to temporary weight gain.

Medications: Pain medications or antibiotics given after the procedure can sometimes cause fluid retention.

Limited Mobility: After undergoing a procedure like BodyTite, you may be less active initially, which can contribute to fluid retention and a temporary decrease in metabolic rate.

Surgical Trauma: The body undergoes a degree of trauma during any surgery, leading to inflammation and fluid accumulation.

Hydration Levels: Changes in hydration status can also affect immediate weight fluctuations.

Weight gain immediately after treatment could be related to swelling.  However this would resolve within the first few weeks.  Extra weight at four months post op would not be related to the procedure.  I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your primary care physician.
