Hi - I am planning to have a facelift within the next two years. Will having a few rounds of Sculptra impact my abilty to have a facelift and facial fat transfer in the future? I've read some information stating you should NOT do sculptra before a facelift. Thanks for your opinion.
Answer: Sculptra and surgery Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Shah Facial Plastics. This is a great question. Sculptra is a collagen stimulator that adds volume to the face. It helps to boost the production of your own collagen, and will not interfere with your surgeon performing a facelift. However, I highly recommend scheduling an in-person consultation in order to better assess your areas of concern and discuss an appropriate treatment plan to help achieve your aesthetic goals. Our office phone number is: (312) 944-0117. I hope this helps and best of luck!

Answer: Sculptra should not affect your candidacy for a Facelift and or fat transfer Thank you for a great question.Sculptra has been around since 2004 and works by stimulating collagen production and is often used to add volume to the face. In general, having Sculptra injections should not impact your ability to have a facelift or facial fat transfer in the future. Sculptra primarily works by stimulating collagen, and its effects are temporary. Over time, the body absorbs the Sculptra, and the collagen that was produced gradually diminishes. Facelifts and facial fat transfers are surgical procedures that involve modifying the underlying structures of the face. While Sculptra may provide temporary volume, the long-term effects are different from the more permanent changes that can be achieved with surgery. However, it's will be crucial to inform your surgeon about any previous aesthetic treatments you've had, including Sculptra injections. Additionally, individual factors, such as the condition of your skin, overall health, and specific aesthetic goals, will be considered when planning any cosmetic procedures. Hope this helps. Have a beautiful day. Best. Dr.Anna Avaliani , NYC

Answer: Consequences of sculptra and a facelift Injecting sculptulra creates “collagen”, but in reality, it’s the scar tissue, which is being created as a reaction to the filler which causes inflammation in the area I’ve injection. Even though sculptra is supposed to last 2 to 6 years, I have had patience in whom it has lasted for more than 20 years. It is not the sculptra that last, but the scar tissue that is being formed. With that in mind, having a facelift, after such a filler could potentially create a more difficult operation. I have been a proponent of using fat grafting for the last 30 years and in my hands without any incisions, I can make the patient look considerably younger, (20-30 years) and if they ever needed a facelift, it can’t be performed. When fat grafting is performed by an expert Plastic surgeon? the results are extremely natural and practically permanent. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
