Why did 3 V Beam treatments I had do basically nothing for the redness/broken capillaries?

In our office, we have several treatments that can help improve common vascular skin issues, including rosacea, post-inflammatory erythema, red scars, facial blushing, and spider veins. The Vbeam laser continues to be the gold standard for redness, including rosacea and post-inflammatory erythema. In some cases, we add Venus Viva RF coagulation to help improve redness on the skin from spider veins, inflammation, and rosacea.

Generally, several sessions are required to improve redness on the skin. Vbeam laser, IPL Limelight, and Venus Viva all work very well with minimal downtime.

Patients with rosacea may benefit from topical creams to help soothe inflamed skin. We recommend Elevase Moisture Booster. For Post-inflammatory erythema, Plato’s Scar Serum is recommended twice daily.

V-Beam laser can take 6 treatments and maintenance to help reduce the Rosacea.  Redness and rosacea are very individual treatments and some patients need topical and oral antibiotics including the V-Beam to keep it under control.  Please consult an expert in acne rosacea for the best cosmetic results.  Best, Dr. Green

Thanks for your post. This laser, especially if its second generation laser (realised in 3 months time), should give excellent results. Results are depended upon the setting. In the odd occasion I have patients place restrictions on me- no downtime, I don't want swelling , no bruising etc.. hence I have to use a conservative parameter. If no limitations are placed on the dermatologist, we usually use our favoured setting. Additionally we aim for specific end points if you have larger blood vessels- namely Bruising ! I can not comment as we do not have the before and after photos, nor the settings and passes of this new laser. Very unusual to get zero results after 3 sessions, limitations of the patients aside.
