Answer: Grafts in revision rhinoplasty You can absolutely use grafts that have been placed and used for prior rhinoplasty. The use of the grafts will depend in large part on the condition of the grafts. During your consultation for revision rhinoplasty surgery your rhinoplasty surgeon will examine your nose for any usable cartilage and discuss with you alternative sources of cartilage for reconstruction of your nose.

Answer: Nose grafts in rhinoplasty revision Yes you can reuse prior grafts assuming you need them and they are in good shape with strong integrity. It’s also common to harvest a rib cartilage graft during a revision rhinoplasty for fresh grafts. Best

Answer: Spare parts... Indeed... previously used cartilage grafts can be re-purposed but only if they meet the needs of a revision rhinoplasty.... all things in surgery are relative to the patient’s indications AND the surgeon’s skill, judgement and experience....Particularly with regard to revision rhinoplasty, I am of the mindset that it is imperative to use the ‘best’ available cartilage even if it isn’t the ‘most readily’ available.... As such, I never hesitate to utilize rib cartilage grafts in appropriate patients because of its plentiful availability, ease of harvest and minimal morbidity/cost to the patientGood luck

Answer: Harvesting Previous Grafts in Revision Rhinoplasty All cartilage can and should be preserved so it is available during a revision rhinoplasty procedure. The cartilage is viable and just as effective as when it was originally placed.
