Will Botox results in my face be ruined by a deep tissue massage in my neck and throat 4 days after?

Have descrupture in my neck on 3 places, often stiff neck, sternocleidomastoideus, pressure in head. worried I've ruined it cause after I had a sitting massage, squeezed, massaged my neck, throat, sternomasteiodeus hard and on triggerpoints, I sudden felt a tingling in my face, and like something moved from glabellar and over brow down on the side of the eye and down to the cheek, as if it was either relaxing OR botox migrating? Im 4 days post botox. what do you think that was? Very worried

Thank you for your question and congratulations on your recent Botox session. After about four hours, the Botox will have sufficiently absorbed into the targeted muscles, meaning that migration is not an issue. Having your deep neck massage four days after your injections should not have any effect on your Botox results. If you have any further concerns or notice anything unusual, contact your Botox provider for his/her advice.

Hi there, The results of your botox treatment will not be affected by a massage done 4 days post injection. The botox would be absorbed by the muscles at the time of your massage, in fact, it is unlikely that botox would migrate as soon as 4 hours post injection.

It should be fine for you to have a massage four days after Botox.  You should ideally avoid direct massage of the area for the first couple of days, but massage of the surrounding area should not be an issue.  See your injector for further concerns.

Hello, and thanks for your question. Any injectable filler such as Botox that is administered to the face should not have any effect on other parts of your body. It is actually absorbed by your body fairly quickly, so you would certainly not have any issues from it after 4 days.
 If you are concerned about tingling sensations or any discomfort, let your doctor or a specialist know what you are feeling. They will be able to give you an examination in order to let you know for sure.

Hello. Thank you for your question. After 4 hours, your Botox will not move if you rub the area. I do no think your deep tissue massage had any affect on you Botox. I think whatever you experienced was just a result of the massage.

Thank you for your question. In our Del Mar Ca. practice we tell patients to remain upright and refrain from rubbing, massaging or manipulating the injected area for 3-4 hours after. Botox will not migrate after four days, so your massage will not affect it.

Dear Adali82,
I can understand your worry and concern. It is often advised that patients avoid manipulation of areas treated with Botox for at least 4 hours post treatment. This is to prevent migration of the Botox to areas outside of the intended treatment sites. These recommendations are made out of an abundance of caution. 
After 24 hours of treatment with Botox the risk of physical manipulation of the skin or deeper tissues causing migration is virtually none. You received your deep tissue massage four days after Botox. Consequently, it would be extremely unlikely that you would have migration of the Botox from your massage. In addition, the distance of any migration would be only a few centimeters at most depending on the amount of Botox and dilution used. 
The unusual feelings you describe are probably related to the massage that you received itself. Please also be assured that Botox is temporary. Even in cases where an undesired change is noted, it will resolve with time. Usually in as few as 1-2 months but very rarely more than 4-6. I hope you find this information helpful. You may want to follow up with your injector if you have additional concerns.
