If you had a temporary filler like HA, bumps may be treated with hyaloronidase, dilute steroid injections, or surgical excision. Consider consulting with several reputable facial plastic surgeons so you could see what might be best for you. Thank you. Dr Joseph
Unfortunately, without knowing what type of filler was used it is difficult to comment in all but the most general terms. If a hyaluronic acid-based filler was used (hopefully), then the filler lumps and bumps may be dissolved with hyaluronidase. If permanent fillers, such as Bellafill or silicone, were used, the nodules will be much harder to treat, since there is no analogous dissolving enzyme for these types of injectables. Sorry. Surgical removal of permanent filler-related nodules and granulomas is one option, but this typically leaves scars and potential lip distortion. I have success with these using a combination of subcision to break up the lumps, as well as the accompanying injection of triamcinolone acetonide, an antiinflammatory agent, along with hyaluronidase for helping the antifinflammatory to disperse better through the unwanted lumps. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician. Best of luck to you.
It is not unusual to feel bumps or irregularities in the lips for a couple of weeks. Heat from a warm compress or coffee or tea mug and gentle massage can smooth out bumps. Do not be too aggressive or that could cause unwanted swelling. If a hyaluronidase filler was used it can be removed but time will often resolve the lumpiness. After sufficient anesthesia it may be squeezed out from an opening created with a needle. I would not advise radiofrequency to correct lumps in the lips.
Thank you for your question! For unwanted bumps caused by lip filler, I typically recommend injecting a small amount of hyaluronidase into the bumps to help dissolve the unwanted bumps caused by filler. This technique can be used if the lip filler that was injected was a hyaluronic acid product such as Juvederm or Restylane. Hyaluronidase is a reversal agent for hyaluronic acid filler, and we have had great success getting rid of bumps using this technique. In my opinion, radiofrequency laser does typically does not get hot enough to safely melt filler. I hope this helps!- Dr. Shelley, Oklahoma City, OK
Hi,I would not recommend radio frequency for lip filler bumps. If the lips were injected less than 2 weeks ago, I would just give it time and maybe gentle massage. If more than 2 weeks, consider hyaloronidase. Hope that helps!
We usually do not treat smile lines in isolation but treat the face as a whole. The photos do not show your whole face but often the cheek needs more volume and support because movement of the cheek fat pad is what creates the folds from nose to mouth. Medical grade skin care is a must and c...
Fillers such as Restylane Silk, Belotero, or Juvederm can work well to treat lines around the mouth, but the best first option is laser resurfacing or deep peels to induce collagen production. Superficial radiofrequency devices and microneedling can help as well and are less invasive. I suggest...
If your acne scars are not bound down to deep tissues, microdroplet Silikon1000 may be considered for permanent improvement. This may be excellent for people with darker skin types that are not candidates for resurfacing procedures. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
