Q-Plus-C (Quanta Aesthetic Lasers) or Tri-Beam Thanks in advance. Kind regards
Answer: Black tattoos - Pico technology the newer "pico" technology lasers are the best currently for one color black tattoo removal in my opinion. They are effect and fast. You will generally need far less number of treatments with this technology than others. Though the cost per session may be a bit higher your will save due to needing fewer sessions. Good Luck

Answer: Picotechnology is the way to go Thank you for this question. Best of the 2 Lasers above you asked about, I would say the Quanta Q Plus C as we used this laser for almost a decade and it does remove black tattoos, However, we have replaced our QplusC recently with the Picotechnology Enlighten3 and now what could take 20-30 sessions to remove can be removed in generally 6 or less. Basically I would say about 1/3 of the number of treatments if use picotechnology and so therefore usually a savings by virtue is such fewer sessions. Also, Pico has less likelihood of scarring or hypopigmentation either. Good Luck to you and hope this helps, Dr. Amy

Answer: Use the Best Technology Available Thanks for your question. Tattoo removal is not medically necessary, so it is not covered by insurance. You have 2 routes for laser tattoo removal.Nanosecond lasers came out about 20 years ago. Picosecond laser came out about 3 years ago. The majority of former Q-Switch patients we see have significant hypopigmentation (ghosting) around and under their tattoo. The Q-Switch lasers have trouble differentiating between the melanin in your skin and ink. The technology uses heat to burn the pigment out of your skin. In addition, we have seen patients with raised scars as if they have been branded. Both of these condition are irreversible. Every laser manufacturer has a different marketing hook to make you choose their laser. At the end of the day, it's about the technology and experience of the clinician. All PicoSecond lasers (like the Enlighten, PicoWay & PicoSure) fire 1000 times faster, using a pressure wave rather than heat to shear the ink molecules apart. After using the PicoSure for almost 3 years, we have only seen pinpoint hypopigmentation in a very small number of patients usually of darker skin tones. We cannot say it is impossible to get burned with a Picosecond laser, but it is highly unlikely. We tell every PicoSure tattoo patient to expect at least 6 treatments, but don’t be surprised if it takes 10 to 12. Patience is the key for our patients. We typically see our tattoo removal patients every 8 to 12 weeks initially. After the 3rd or 4th treatment, we suggest waiting 4-6 months between treatments.Treatment prices vary by market. The cost for picosecond treatments will be higher, but you should need less than half the treatments compared to a nanosecond laser.

Answer: Laser Tattoo Removal Both of these lasers are Q-switch lasers. Currently, the best lasers for tattoo removal are Pico lasers. Of those, the top three for black ink are the Enlighten, Picoway, or Piqo4. For the best value, I would find a practice utilizing one of the Pico lasers listed.
