I had lipo on my upper arms, inner thighs, and 360 lipo on my torso for a BBL.

Question

My skin around my lower back and sides feel very tight, tingles, and burns a bit when I twist and bend. It's been 8 weeks post-op. Is this normal? The swelling seems to have gone down significantly.

Congratulations on your recent Brazilian Butt Lift procedure! After BBL surgery, pain may occur and should be relieved with analgesics (Aleve, Motrin, Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, among others). These pain medications are usually prescribed by plastic surgeons to help with general discomfort. Some amount of bruising and swelling is expected and it will disappear with time. Spotty areas of numbness are common and may last several weeks, but will also disappear. Similarly, feelings of sharpness, burning, and tightness are common occurrence during the healing process, but will decrease with each passing day. Your body may look swollen for months, but after 6 months you might appreciate your new and amazingly contoured figure. I would recommend you wearing specialized compression garments for 4-6 months and getting lymphatic drainage massages in order to completely alleviate the swelling and discomfort. Implementing healthy eating habits and regular exercise (taking advantage of your new increased metabolism) is essential to keep stimulating weight loss and avoiding retrieving the rendered fat. All that you describe is completely normal after liposuction 8 weeks is still early, this can take up to 6 months. Best of luck

All those things you describe are normal sensations as you recover from liposuction.  Usually with more time those sensations improve..

Hello, thank you for your question. Swelling in the lower back is normal after liposuction and is particularly uncomfortable for patients. Discomfort can be eased with lymphatic massage. In the meantime it's wise to avoid junk food, and foods high in sodium, and to make a habit of walking everyday to help with the swelling. I advise you see your surgeon if the swelling persists.
