Obviously lightly and with meticulous medical grade after care. Why don't people do that on scars?
Answer: Hetter Peel to the Body Surprisingly, no one else actually answered your question so I would like to. The Hetter Peel is such a wonderful resurfacing tool when used by an experienced peeler primarily treating facial problems. It can be used very judiciously to the neck and to the chest by experienced physicians. The reason for this is that nonfacial areas of skin have a lower density of sebaceous and sweat glands and the healing after the procedure depends on these skin appendages.

Answer: Phenol peels best use? Phenol (carbolic acid) can be effectively used to improve/regenerate/wound skin and when properly applied by a qualified experienced physician, can result in healthier more attractive skin. We focus on the face including the lower lids, cheeks and mouth area. There is some temporary discomfort, swelling and color change for 7-10 days before new skin is apparent. 'Off -face’ use is not as predictable.

Answer: There's too many unknowns for a phenol peel on the body A phenol peel is a powerful weapon that shouldn't be used anywhere than the face and neck area. There isn't any data of what it's results would be in the body (that I'm aware of) but there's likely good reason that it isn't used on the body. When a procedure is used off label it can put the patient into risk of poor results or worse. If you want to reduce the appearance of scars on your body, I recommend starting at the least invasive method and working your way up. Start with scar creams, micro needling, photo facials, lasers, etc. Keep in mind that with these procedures it will take several series of treatments to get results so be patient. If something appears to be working after a few treatments, keep doing it. Clinics will offer discounts if you buy packages of treatments.Another thing to keep in mind is the importance of keeping your scars out of sunlight. Scars become much more noticeable with sunlight. Keep your scars covered in the best sunblock you can find. Keep them covered with your clothing whenever possible.

Answer: Phenol cannot be used on the Body Because the Phenol peel is a deep peel, it cannot safely be used on the body. It has systemic toxicity so it must be used judiciously by a professional. Furthermore, it permanently lightens the skin of the face and would cause major scarring if used on the body.

Answer: Phenol Peel Hetter Peel, Scars Report Phenol peels can be performed on the face and other parts of the body. Depending on the condition, (wrinkles, coloration, scars) and the patient's expectations and tolerance for one or more sessions Phenol can be used straight or mixed with Croton Oil and other solutions to make penetration stronger or weaker. The Phenol peel can be mixed as very light, medium light, medium or strong. Areas of the face and the eyelids have thinner skin and should be peeled less aggressively. The neck, chest legs, buttocks skin is more sensitive than the cheeks and should be treated appropriately. Knowing that the Phenol peel is the most effective skin tightener and collagen stimulator care through learned experience must be taken when using such a powerful solution. Microneedling, less invasive and traditional dermabrasion (better resurfacer) and injections are alternatives to strong peels which are more effective to reduce scar pigmentation. Please consult in person with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon prior to making treatment decisions.
