Can over-application of Minoxidil kill transplanted hair?

I am 4 Months post my hair transplant I have been applying Minoxidil since last 3 months, I use the 5% these days. But I had a bottle left of 2% left with me so I thought of using it, So I applied it on my transplanted area. Today when I applied it, I think I over applied it, it gave me a very burning and stinging sensation on the scalp where I applied it. I am getting worried ! Could it have damaged my hair grafts which are about to grow. Would it have killed my transplanted hair grafts ?

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.  Minoxidil does not harm transplanted hairs.

Hello. Thank you for your question! Minoxidil should not cause death to the hair follicles, I advice to my patients apply minoxidil 5% not earlier than 3 weeks post operative. Minoxidil may let you have some itching, but this would feel even person who did not have hair transplant.
