Is it normal for the downtime from Vivace last more than 2 weeks?

Vivace RF Microneedling is a wonderful procedure. Depending on the level of aggression of the settings, some do have the marks and it can take some time to heal. However, the end results will be better because aggressive settings were used. I have found that if we prep our patients with good skin care for about 2-3 weeks prior to the Vivace, the post recovery is smoother even with ore aggressive settings. You are going to end up loving your results. 

Thank you for your question. It appears that your provider purposely did an aggressive treatment to give you more dramatic results. Everyone responds differently to this treatment. However, your concerns are completely valid.  You can have this kind of reaction transiently, but it will go away.  I perform all my Vivace treatments with PRP or platelet rich plasma and send my patients home with high potency clinical skincare. The combination of these additional steps reduces the healing process dramatically and improves results beyond just the microneedling radiofrequency treatment. I suggest you and your provider discuss adjusting your treatment settings, addition of PRP and more aggressive clinical skincare for future treatments.

When we use higher settings and are more aggressive the Vivace works amazing and helps get rid of wrinkles and improves texture better.  However, the down time can be greater.  I would recommend using PRP to speed healing the next time.  It helps decrease healing time and improve results. I would be happy that the physician was aggressive.  We do recommend hyaluronic acids and antioxidant skin care post procedure to improve healing and results.

I have seen some individuals treated with the Vivace have post-treatment effects such as yours, particularly when I am treating at the more powerful 1 MHz (megahertz) setting. So this is not abnormal. The tracking or gridmarks can take a couple weeks to resolve and I think that you should have a very nice result in the end. I would suggest using a gentle cleanser, a good moisturizer and of course sunscreen on your treated areas. You can always use makeup to cover the areas while this tracking resolves.
