Is my nose crooked or is it uneven swelling? Just removed the cast. (photos)

Question

Hi - I had an open tip rhinoplastry 7 days ago; deviated septum, tip reshaping and bridge removal. I have just removed the cast and my nose seems to be way bigger and more swollen on the right side as well as crooky. It is also really wide. My surgeon ressured me that it is normal and it will even when swelling goes done..I wanted to get a second opinion here. Also, please note that I had septum on the right side too... Thank you in advance for an answer!

Thank you for asking. This is very common after cast splint removal. There's often one side that's more swollen temporarily. Follow up with your surgeon. Best wishes

First the photos are not good quality to determine anything. Second, it is likely that you have a lot of swelling and you will need to give it time to heal. Best of luck.

What you are experiencing is very common. The splint basically molds the swelling and if there is slightly more pressure on one side, the swelling may be asymmetric. This has no long term impact and the asymmetric swelling may continue for a few weeks. gradually the swelling will reduce but you will not see small refinements for many months to a year. Follow your surgeons advice and continue to be patient, as hard as that is.Best of luck

You are only a week out from surgery. Listen to your surgeon. Swelling after a procedure is normal and expected. Be patient and follow up regularly with your surgeon for reassurance.

You will not be able to determine your final result for quite some time as you do have swelling and you have to let your nose go through the recovery process. Continue following up with your PS and you will see with time your nose will have less swelling and will hopefully look more refined.
