How much is a cosmetic mole excision in New York, NY or its neighboring boroughs? I have a raised mole, 8 mm diameter, on my face, near my temple hairline area. A dermatologist said it looks benign. Also, what should I look for in the doctor who will perform the work on me? Lastly, for post operation care, what are your thoughts on a cream called Biocorneum vs. Aquaphor? Thank you in advance for your answers.

Any mole which changes or suddenly appears needs to be evaluated. Most plastic surgeons and dermatologists will recommend an excisional biopsy of the lesion so that it can be sent for pathology.
I think the photo looks like an irritated seborrheic keratosis (age spot). This is benign. However, you need to get it checked out by a dermatologist because melanomas can present in this way.
