Minoxidil causing hair texture to change? Is it possible to reverse it?

I'm a 20 year old male. I started noticing some mild recession and mild crown thinning when I was19.A dermatologist recommended me Minoxidil which I used for about 7 months which resulted in stoppage of hairloss. However I noticed that my hair texture had changed in the process. I had wavy hair that became curly and strawlike. The doctor recommended me to stop using it. It's been 6months since I've stopped but I still haven't seen my original texture return. Is there anything that could be done?

Minoxidil is known to change the hair character rarely in some people who use it. The best thing to do is to wait until the hair has gone through another hair cycle and hopefully your original hair character will return. This runs 203 years for men.
