Change in treatment from oral finasteride to 1% solution. Is there a reasonable dosage?

Hello Due to side affects I would like to change treatment from oral to topical finasteride. I would like to aplly 1% solution . Is it a reasonable dosage and what is the right way to get off the pills and start with the topical treatment?
