No, these shouldn't cause long term negative health effects. I don't recommend performing microneedling yourself. To get the best outcomes, I recommend getting a formal evaluation and treatment with a cosmetic dermatologist. With microneedling, I always combine with prp and lasers to improve outcomes. Thank you for your question. The dermastamp or dermaroller are somewhat effective tools to mechanically help stimulate collagen and I haven't heard of any long term health effects from performing them. I would just make sure the instrument stays clean or as sterile as possible before and after each use.For more satisfactory results you should consider going to a board certified plastic surgeon's office who performs microneedling using a device called a SkinPen or the Eclipse. These devices are medical grade handheld devices that is depth controlled by the operator therefore stimulating the collagen at a deeper level providing you with more dramatic results. I recommend getting 3 to 6 treatments at least one month apart from each other depending on your skin problems. Some patients receive treatment in order to maintain good healthy skin and come in every 3, 6, or 12 months as long as you are on a good skin care regimen.
There are many ways to microneedle safely. If the needles are small and the hand of the expert is steady then devices that reach into the dermis for scarring and lines, or epidermis for pigment, and used correctly, will heal well. As long as the chemical used for treatment is safe there are no known health risks. At our practice we use platelet rich plasma (PRP), which is your body's own natural product with no known additives.

Micro-needling motorized devices are basically the same. Variables include the number of needles per head piece, the depth of needling and the speed setting. Adding platelet rich plasma to the skin prior to the procedure should improve results. Several sessions (usually more than two) are re...
The answer is yes, but the more common reaction is an irritant reaction. If pustules or blisters form then infection can be the culprit. See you specialist to perform ROAT testing if you are concerned regarding an allergy. Allergic reactions are exceedingly rare for pure HA based fillers. Dr ...
Good morning and thank you for your question! An aggressive microneedling treatment can leave your skin feeling "raw" and inflamed for a few days. However, I would not suggest applying olive oil or Vaseline to the skin. Both of these can be very occlusive and prohibit the skin from healing...
Given your skin type you need to be pre treated & protected with melanocyte (color producing cells in skin) suppression prior to treatment with Microneedling or Halo hybrid fractional laser. HALO laser, FDA approved in 2014 has been tested to be safe even in African American skin...
