Will microcurrent help masseter after Botox bulk up again?

Got Botox masseter done 4 months ago. 24 units on each side. I don’t think I needed it. I am reading it can last two years and talked to people who had it done once and it lasted years. Would microcurrent facials help atrophied masseter?

It is unlikely since the muscle is quite deep to the skin and subcutaneous tissue layers, which are targeted by the microcurrent facial technique. It is very unlikely that the Botox lasts that long. In a great majority of cases, it will dissipate over 3-6 months for masseter muscle treatment.

Hi and thank you for your question,In short, I would not recommend microcurrent for the masseter after botox.  First, I would suspect your results to be subtle after 24 units as a single treatment to the masseter.  I would also expect that result to last much less than 2 years.  Since the treatment was 4 months ago, over the next 2-3 months things should start returning to your baseline.I hope this helps,John Frederick, MD
