I’ve had a sliding genioplasty about 4 years ago and it made me notice something. I’ve had braces for my overbite when I was younger, but my bite has never felt right. I was looking back at my X-ray photos from the surgery and noticed my bite looks off. I don’t get why this was never mentioned to me. I’m no expert, so maybe there’s nothing wrong. I do suffer from TMJ symptoms, teeth grinding, headaches and my midline is pretty far off. Should I’ve gotten jaw surgery instead of a genioplasty?

Hello Thanks to jaw coorective surgeries we are able to salvo abnormalites of maxilla and mandibula. We usually do not recommend implants especially medpor , becuse it can couse infections and can melt the bone. For you case double jaw surgery is indicated .

Hello, your profile could definitely benefit from a mandibular advancement to give more projection to your lower third. We would need to see your bite and some more clinical imaging to see if you need any other movements done.
It is an unfortunate result both with respect to the open bite and t he upper incisor position. The only answer if you wish to improve it; is surgery. The extent and nature of the surgery would have to be reviewed. This type of treatment did not require a Korean visit for surgery!
