Hi, I've always had a long face and a bit of fat under my chin even in my 20s and at normal weight, and as I've gotten older (I'm 44) I've noticed some jowling. When I pull my skin back as in the photos below, my jawline becomes more contoured. This also puts some fat on the outside jaw, so that my face looks wider, not so oblong. What procedures could give this look? Liposuction under the jaw? And what would I do to also create some width on the side of my face (pref no implants)? Thx
Answer: Facelift #cosmeticsurgery #postopcontour #fillers #BOTOX Dear vio212Thank you for your question and photos! The ideal approach for your demonstration is a facelift with micro fat grafting. A Non-surgical approach - would utilize fillers to shape your jawline, removal of some of the jowl fat and some BOTOX to relax the muscles at the corner of the mouth and neck. With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD

Answer: Improving face without mayor surgery: fillers like Voluma #voluma #fillers #rejuvenation #nonsurgical #johnmesamd Patients interested in improving their facial appearance ( e.g. widening the face and jaw) without surgery could benefit from facial filers like Voluma. Hyaluronic based fillers and calcium based fillers (e.g Radiesse) could improve significantly improve the appearance of the face by restoring the volume lost by aging. Also, when properly injected on the face, when could give a facelift-like appearance. In order to improve the "sagging" of the neck, patients may may recur to non-invasive modalities like ultrasound or radio frequency technologies. Since these non-invasive treatment target the skin and fat, but not the cause of the problem ( loose neck muscle -Platysma or SMAS), they don't usually work as good as surgery. Patients looking for a significantly improving of their neck, could benefit from a minimally invasive neck lift under pure local anesthesia, without having to go to sleep ( general anesthesia or IV sedation).Patients interested in facial improvement/rejuvenation with fillers and minimally invasive surgical procedures should consult with a Board Certified Plastic SurgeonJohn Mesa, MDCosmetic Plastic SurgeonNew Jersey & New York City

Answer: Facial rejuvenation You are describing a potential mini-facelift, and you might want to consider fat grafting as well to fill it out along those regions as well.

Answer: Face lift to improve the lower face and neck; Sculptra for cheek volume improvement. You would benefit most from a face and neck lift and filling of the cheeks with Sculptra or fat grafting. While you can address the problems of your neck and face with fillers, ultimately you will be disappointed at the minimal results or the swollen appearance, neither of which you'd want. A face and neck lift is a very refined, detailed operation but not a big stress on your body overall. It's a good long term solution for a two to three week recovery period. At the same time you can consider fat graft augmentation of your cheeks. However, you would benefit from improving the volume of your cheeks and perhaps other areas of your face with Sculptra. Sculptra fills by stimulating your body to make it's own collagen. I would advise you to see a board certified plastic surgeon, who will hopefully give you an honest opinion and good options. Good luck!
