Answer: Hair Transplant - Hair Loss in immediate post-transplant period Thank you for your question. Without seeing you in person it is difficult to say with complete certainty why you have experienced loss in these localized areas of your donor site and what you can hope to expect to see moving forward. With that said it is likely that this hair loss is temporary, a phenomenon called telogen effluvium. It is not uncommon for patients following a hair transplant procedure to undergo a period of shock loss where the follicles actually loose the hairs within them. If the patches that concern you are the result of telogen effluvium, you should expect to see hair regrowth over the next few months. Please continue to follow up with your operating surgeon for evaluations and to monitor these areas for progress. I hope that you find this helpful and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Answer: Hair loss in donor area Hopefully these areas represent transient loss of hair which show grow back over time-Minoxidil could help with this. However,I am concerned that with 3700 grafts there is an element of overharvesting. It may take 3-6 months to see the area declare itself.

Answer: Hair loss after donor harvesting with FUE In my personal view and experience It is too, too early to certify a complication, it is only one month after the surgery, so the wound healing and hair regrowth have many months to go. The best case scenario: It could be a shock loss & the worst scenario: scarring and permanent damage to the hair follicle. I will suggest you do not panic yet and to continue your contact with your hair surgeon. Great question. Good luck and keep us posted.
