For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thanks for your question! At 5 days post-op, persistent swelling is still normal. Facetite is usually done with infusion of tumescent fluid so there can be 'extra' swelling that will decrease with time! Facetite isn't necessarily 'reversible' - it depends on what you mean by reversible. Facetite is simply emission of radiofrequency through tissue and there isn't an injectable or alternative that can take that away. With regards to fluid drainage, forced drainage is really only viable with consolidated fluid such as seromas, or when enough tissue has been dissected away from it's base that a drain can be placed. Since Facetite doesn't require this level of dissection, drains are not able to be placed for these procedures. Give it time and the swelling will decrease ). Best of luck!
this is not an unusual amount of swelling considering the amount of surgery you had done. This will resolve over time. Keep your head elevated and your heart rate and blood pressure at normal levels
While it is uncommon, it is certainly possible. Follow up with your facetite provider to see if this is something that would benefit from a steroid injection.
Two alcoholic drinks a day after FaceTite likely will have no effect on wound healing or final results. I always advocate following your PS's post-operative instructions.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
