Not feeling well after getting permanent veneers

Question

2 weeks ago I got 10 upper veneers placed. Shortly after I noticed I haven't been feeling well. I've been nauseated with dizziness. I even passed out one day. I also have racing heart and shortness of breath. I've recently had a physical so we can rule out any viruses, pregnancy or any other underlying causes, etc. This only started once my permanent veneers were on. I have appt. with dentist soon. I will address the issue with him. Has anyone dealt with a situation like this previously?

Your symptoms sound like those of anemia or possibly a calorie deficient state.  This may be due to decreased food and drink consumption post your veneer procedure.  This is common and occurs when a person actually stops eating and/or drinking, due to a fear of damaging or staining there veneers.  I would suggest that you have the doctor evaluate your blood work to rule out anemia.I hope this helps.Dr. Sarah Thompson

There are times when we place veneers that we need to place a special kind of string under the gums to help control bleeding and that can have epinephrine as an ingredient. Epinephrine (adrenalin) can cause a heart to race, but is a transient feeling. It typically does not remain afterwards. Other than that, I can't imagine anything related to your veneers that can cause your symptoms.
