Crepiness & fine lines around eyes. Filler, Fraxel, or Botox?

There are a number of procedures that can help improve the texture of the skin around your eyes and fill in your tear troughs. You are at the age where wrinkles begin to make their very unwelcome appearance. However, without seeing you in person or at least seeing photos, it is not possible to determine what the best solutions are for your case. It may be that better nutrition and a good skin-care regimen with retinoids would be sufficient to give your skin a boost. You may need Botox to smooth out crow's feet. There are some good options for eyelid wrinkles including, lasers such as the Fraxel Dual or light Erbium or CO2 laser peels.  If the wrinkles are mild, and they probably are at your age, a chemical peel, such as a 20% TCA peel or light laser such as the Clear and Brilliant lasers may be enough.  See a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in cosmetic skin treatments and has all options available. 

I often think the best results are a combination of treatments. Start with a good skin care regime which should include retin A, and a good eye cream which includes growth factors. I do think fillers are needed for the sunken appearance. Laser can help improve the crepey skin as can microneedling with PRP. Also, Infini can help tighten up loose skin. You asked a very popular question but it really depends on the exact problem and level of fat in the tear trough and skin type and wrinkles. Without a photo there is no way to answer this but in general I use a combination of Botox for the wrinkles around the eyes (Crow's Feet), Fillers such as Restylane for the tear troughs, and Fraxel or eMatrix or PRP with microneedling for the fine lines around the eyes.   Even the use of Retin-A or Retinols can improve this area when used correctly. Please consult an expert in facial cosmetic dermatology for the best results.  Best, Dr. Green
