How to correct an orbital dystopia? (Photo)

As you can see in the uploaded picture and in the link below i have uneven eyes (orbital dystopia) http://www.realself.com/question/new-york-ny-eye-asymmetry-caused-ptosis-lack-fat-left-eyebrow-upper-eyelid My question: How can this be corrected? Only through craniofacial surgery? Are implants or hydroxyapatite cement an option aswell? thanks for your response

Fixing this might correct the issue but it might make other problems as well.  Your issue is small enough that you are likely the only one bother by it.  Does that make it worth your while to take the risk of what is basically experimental surgery?  I think it might be much safer to explore the psychological aspects of how this makes you feel and determine if you have some form of body dysmorphic disorder.  Working on that may be much safer that risking having a surgery that could be perfect or could open a can of worms of issues that bother you and compel you to have one surgery after another to fix them.

Smaller amounts of orbital dystopia (less than 5mms of a horizontal pupillary line discrepancy) can be improved by orbital floor augmentation using a variety of materials. It is important to realize, however, that the soft tissues of the eyelids and brow do not follow the globe elevation and have to be addressed as well.

Thanks for your question. The most important issue is whether this is a recent change or have you always had orbital dystopia. If it is a recent phenomenon then you should get it checked out by a craniofacial surgeon or ophthalmologist who would probably arrange scans (CT and MRI) to establish what is going on. If this a longstanding problem or it has already been thoroughly investigated and no underlying disease process found then Craniofacial surgery is the only option that will make much change. Having said that your asymmetry is not too bad and the surgery to fix it is very major so I would doubt that a craniofacial surgeon would recommend that you proceed.
