There isn’t really any pain but the dimpling and the appearance of bruising seem to be getting worse. What could the underlying causes be? What sort of doctor should I seek out? Can anyone refer me to one in nyc?

Yes, technically trauma to an area can cause fat cells to die or the soft tissue to atrophy. I am not sure hitting your buttocks on the washing machine is enough trauma to do so. Definitely talk to your PS.

Adding more fat on the lower area of the buttock will not resolve the problem, I think that you reached the result that you can get with the fat transfer procedure to remodel and reshape the lower back contour and buttock and only a skin resection can remove can resolve this problem.
