Botox and dry eyes

Question

I've had dry eyes for years (way before I started using botox). When I'm outdoor tears easily roll off my cheeks especially when its windy. I've been using botox for about year. I noticed now sometimes when I'm indoor laying on my bed or sofa watching tv if I'm laying on my side tears starts to follow. If I sleep on my side somethings I cry in my sleep. If I'm on my back it doesnt happen. I just thought I'd ask if there is any relationship to botox. Thx

Thank you for your question. I have been injecting Botox for nearly 10 yers, injected thousands of patients, and have never had this complaint.  I doubt the Botox is the culprit.  I am not saying impossible, but very unlikely botox is to blame, especially if you are on your back, and nothing happens. I hope this helps!

Thank you for your question.Since the problem occured prior to having injections, I would not associate your dry eyes and tearing with the Botox. I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist for a consultation in regards to your concerns. I hope this helps.

I am not aware of any relationship between Botox and eye tearing or dry eyes.  I would recommend seeing an ophthalmologist about your issue to see if a cause can be determined.

There is no data or experience to suggest that Botox causes dry eyes. Dry eyes are a common problem, and yours preceded the botox. Best to speak to your eye doctor about this.

I am not aware of any relationship of Botox causing dry eyes or tearingif you feel that in your case dry eyes were caused by or related to getting botox injections I would recommend that you consult with an ophthalmologist.
