I have body odor after laser hair removal. Is there anything I can do?

I completely my underarm laser hair removal treatment a couple months ago, and lately I've noticed I have BO on my right underarm (left underarm seems fine). I used to never have body odor from my underarms at all, I didn't even need deodorant. I did some googling and am wondering if laser has to do with what's happening to my right underarm. If so, is there anything I can do? I'm really annoyed and desperate for a solution. Please let me know!

This is a bit of an unusual complaint. You might try a little gentle tape-stripping: try medical adhesive tape as it may be more effective without hurting your skin. If that doesn't work, i think waxing should do the trick.This may have happened because your hairs are more coarse and curly, so...

Hi Chris.  This is also normal in our practice.  Laser hair removal in an area with very thick hair like the beard can cause much irritation and bumpiness in the few days after treatment.  The issue should go away after a week or so, but yes it's difficult to shave well in the day or two af...

There is no contraindication to swimming after laser, but you will want toavoid the sun. Consider weating a rash guard for the best and easiest protection. Failing that, find a sunscreen with mexoryl or micronized zinc oxide in it, and reapply hourly.
