Are aleve(NSAID) and Adderall interacting with Dysport/Botox?

I regularly take aderall 20 mg for almost a year and I took aleve right before getting dysport Botox , I had difficult breathing after an hour of both injection . So I am confused if aleve or my aderall interact with the Botox ?

Hello Kate,There are some known interactions with Botox and several drugs that limits its effectiveness.  However, you are noting shortness of breath.  This is not a known reaction caused by a drug interaction.  Furthermore, you should really only be getting Botox or Dysport.  It is almost unheard of to be injected by both at the same time since they work similarly.  Also, you really should avoid anything that thins the blood prior to injections.  This includes Aleve.  Since you had difficulty breathing that has since resolved, you should discuss this with your injector to make sure something else wasn't injected (such as a local numbing medication with epinephrine which can cause a racing heart and shortness of breath).  In the future, you should always seek medical attention immediately for shortness of breath as this can be the sign of a serious medical problem.  I hope this helps and good luck.

Why were you getting Botox and Dysport? they both do the same thing and you would get one or the other. Was this at a "Spa" in stead of a doctor's office? also, you are advised to avoid NSAIDs for a week before Botox, so why did you or your doctor not reschedule the injection? What ever "breathing problem" you happened to have an hour after the injection apparently was self limited. Did you go back to your doctor to be seen for your breathing problem? Not aware of any interaction of Botox with Aderall but anything is possible.
