Thank you for sharing your question. In most cases I have patients start scar creams once the bandages covering their incisions from surgery fall off - typically at two weeks. Hope this helps.
There are several products on the market to help minimize your scars after surgery. Most of these can be started after your surgical tape is removed by your surgeon or after tissue adhesive glue comes off. The scar cream should be applied twice daily for approximately 3 months.I favor products that contain silicone such as Silagen or BioCorneum. Please make sure that your product has sunscreen if the scar is in an exposed location.
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your recent procedure! You may begin to use a scar gel as soon as the incisions are healed and closed up. Another product we prefer to use in our office is the SkinMedica Scar Recovery Gel. It's medical grade so it will be better than anything found over the counter, as well as it contains healing components that will aid in the healing process. Good luck and congratulations again!
Thank you for your question. You can start using silicone gel or ScarAway gel once the scabs fall off from your incisions and the skin is sealed, which is usually around 2-3 weeks post surgery. As always, consult with your plastic surgeon for further questions or concerns!
I will usually recommend taping the incisions for about 6 weeks and then if the patient want she can use scar type creams or silicone sheeting. Best to ask your surgeon.
I have patients start using a scar cream (my favorite is Biocorneum) and massaging their scars at approximately 14 days following surgery. It's always best to ask your surgeon and follow their advice.

Thanks for your question. The answers of other surgeons fall approximately in line with the statistics that the overwhelming majority of plastic surgeons use smooth round implants most of the time. The reasons for this are as follows:1. A round implant has no real potential for malrotation (a...
