Can Halo Laser worsen Rosacea temporarily?

I had no complications, no rashes, no breakouts post Halo, just a little milia, MENDS & peeling. I've had increased redness my 4th week out, I had not experienced that the previous 3wks, only the Halo glow. Intermittently this redness occurs now. Just curious if this is common. Across checks and bridge of nose.

You may have skin sensitivity post-laser. I recommend following up with your doctor for a formal evaluation and aftercare. We use a specific protocol of exfoliation, hydration, and moisturizing along with protection after laser treatments. PDT therapy can calm any inflammation. I always combine lasers with microneedling/prp to get more of an outcome. Be sure to use proper sun protection (see link). See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hi and thanks for your question!Unfortunately any therapy that applies heat to the skin (Halo, BBL, Morpheus, ultrasound etc) can temporarily worsen both rosacea and melasma.Remember that your skin is healing and remodeling after a Halo laser for at least 3 months, so while you may be seeing some results now, there are likely more to come!If you are 4 wks out, you may begin treatment with a retinol or other rosacea treatment to control redness as you heal.Hope this helps!
