2 months ago noticed right side develop nasal line. Due to age, loss of volume. Always had a small face - lost weight fastest & gain weight hardly ever. A doc said fillers easiest fix but want to avoid artificial stuff for now. Being preventive to avoid a point where it is too deep. Thank you! Costs helpful too. Would monthly microneedling help? Would facial exercise devices: Facial-flex type help? Eat more? Drinking 4 litres of water help? [Read a woman noticed a big change in face lines]
Answer: Microneedling & PRP As we age our skin makes relatively less collagen than when we were younger. Collagen provides both the volume and the structure (or scaffolding) for the skin. The loss of volume and structure has two effects. First, the skin begins to fold over the muscles around the mouth and drop off the jawline. Second, the smaller volume of skin provides less resistance to the muscles. Less resistance in the skin accentuates folds or lines when we smile. Dermal fillers do offer an easy fix. Most fillers on the market are hyaluronic acid, one of the components in collagen in all of us. Within weeks after injection, the fillers are made into collagen where they were injected. Other options exist though. Procedures, such as microneedling, Venus Freeze, Venus Viva, can stimulate the skin to produce more collagen. They generally take more time than fillers to notice a benefit but if done regularly can at least maintain your appearance or may help to return to a more youthful look. On the subject of diet, eating more is not the answer but eating better quality foods, in general avoiding processed, pre-packaged foods. Heavily sweetened foods and those high in refined carbohydrates can be damaging to the skin (as well as other organs). I hope that helps, Dr. Z.

Answer: Smoothing lines without injections There are many options that do not involve injecting medication. What is most important is that you find a treatment and a provider that you trust and feel comfortable with. Microneedling is one option. Another treatment that you may want to consider is ThermiSmooth®. It delivers gentle, consistent and comfortable levels of heat to the treatment area to increase the amount of natural collagen production. In the months following treatment, the natural collagen in the treated areas continues to tighten and new collagen is formed; so the results get even better with time! There is no “artificial stuff” and no pain!

Answer: Fillers are one option, but not only The best way to treat wrinkles is to be proactive, if you are not using sunscreen or medical grade skin care products that would be my first recommendation. Products alone may be able to turn back the hands of time and erase that line. Needling is another great option for stimulating collagen and improve fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling with radiofrequency is the newest type of needling, when this is done with PRP it can dramatically improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
