Will microneedling work on this scar on my nose? (photo)

Got this scar on the tip of my nose almost 2 years ago, been reading about micro needling but mostly have only seen results on acne scars. Just wanted to get some opinions to see if micro needling would help with the appearance

Yes, miconeedling can help give improvement, but I recommend a combination approach for best outcomes. I recommend microneedling combined with prp, lasers, subcision and fillers to get the most improvement. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Yes, most definitely!  Microneedling creates discrete wounds using a specialized tip containing motorized thin needles which prick the skin surface to stimulate growth of new collagen - a process called collagen induction therapy. During treatment, tiny blood vessels get pierced, releasing growth factors that promote new collagen.  With this in mind, this technique is beneficial for fine lines, surgical scars, acne scars, and overall skin rejuvenation.  Adding platelet-rich plasma further enhances the benefit of this treatment.

Microneedling, especially when combined with PRP (protein rich plasma) is good for improving the appearance of any scars, not just acne scars.  I do think a series of 3-6 would be beneficial for the scar on your nose.  However, I always tell my patients that nothing is available to make scars go completely away.  Your scar looks deep, which means microneedling should soften it, but it likely will always be visible. Subcsion, micro needling and PRP as well as laser resurfacing can improve this scar. As it is depressed on an area that is cosmetically sensitive, you will require multiple treatments over months, however improvement can be made. All the best, Dr Davin Lim

Appreciate the photo, as this helps.  Microneedling will help soften the scar, but alone will not be enough for the deep retraction.
For this I would recommend a filler.  Bellafil works great, as it lasts years to even semi-permanent.  See results for acne scars.  Make sure to see an experienced injector since the tip of the nose has vascularity that can make it risky.
