Hello, I am currently on a journey to lose 50 pounds. I started at 180 and my goal is to reach 130- currently I'm down to 160. I'm 23 years old and lately I've began to notice some sagging in my breast and my abdomen. I'm worried this is going to get even worse as I lose the remaining 30 pounds. I don't want to do drastic surgical procedures as I feel I'm too young and also cost would be an issue. Is there any way to limit my sagging skin and are there non surgical options for loose skin?
Answer: A great non-surgical method for skin tightening is the Morpheus8 Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Outpatient Options for Skin Laxity! Unfortunately, lax skin after significant weight loss is common, despite exercise and healthy eating. If you have loose or lax skin, you will need to undergo treatment specifically designed to tighten skin. There are very good non-invasive options, using various energy types, such as RF, laser or US energy, that can stimulate new collagen production in your skin, which will help to tighten it over time. These devices generally require a series of treatment sessions, but are typically very easy to undergo, with little to no downtime or discomfort. Results may take 3-6 months to be fully realized, so patience is critical with this process. There is also a newer minimally-invasive option that provides exceptional results - Renuvion Skin Tightening (formerly known as J Plasma). Unlike the non-invasive options, it's a one-and-done, without the need for subsequent treatments. Renuvion® is a minimally-invasive procedure to help you achieve a sculpted, firm body with less expense, downtime, and discomfort than traditional excisional plastic surgery procedures. Delivering heat to tissue in a way that was never before possible, Renuvion® utilizes technological advances in cool plasma energy to provide rapid tissue contraction without excising the extra tissue and creating long scars. You should be seen by an experienced cosmetic specialist, who has multiple treatment options available to offer, so you can undergo whichever will be best for your particular case. Some patients prefer the non-invasive option, while others desire whichever procedure produces the best results with single procedure, even if there's a bit of downtime.
