What could cause a scar to be resistant to Vbeam laser? What else can be done? (Photos)

Vbeam laser is the gold standard for deeply red or pinkish hyperemia on the skin from skin trauma or surgery. We use this laser quite often to improve redness in combination with Plato’s Scar Serum twice daily. Options for red scars include scar modulation, intralesional injections to reduce inflammation, vbeam laser, and IPL treatment. Many sessions are required which is why you should schedule with a trained clinician familiar with scar treatment and Vbeam pulsed dye laser.

In general, there is a real risk that surgical re-removal will result in the redevelopment of a hypertrophic scars. Professionally performed microneedling accompanied by the application of prescription redness reducers, such brimonidine, oxymetazolene and tranexamic acid can be helpful for reducing persistent scar erythema. Make sure that you are consulting a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and not just any venue hawking its supposedly "next big thing" laser that it has just purchased. I suspect there is an element of pigment and I would recommend fractional 1927 to help remove pigment (hard to tell without examining closely).
