Many surgeons will not completely eliminate the corrugator and procerus muscles when performing endoscopic surgery. This is good as it avoids irregularities on the forehead. Depending upon the shape of the brow that needs to be maintained and the particular muscles that need to be manipulated, once a nice brow shape has been created with an endoscopic brow lift, botox (or dysport or xeromin or myobloc or any other botulinum toxin) can be administered about three times a year, sometimes less. Your surgeon will review your before and after appearance/photographs and guide you as to the maintenance needed/advisable.

In our practice, we do not perform an endoscopic brow lift, just the coronal approach which can accomplish softening of the corrugator muscles which create the vertical lines in the forehead and soften the frontalis muscle which creates the horizontal lines in the forehead. As long as those muscles have been softened, no maintenance is required.
