How soon can I take a long haul flight after a mastectomy?

Hello I'm interested in a dti nipple sparing prophylactic mastectomy I'm considering traveling to the us from Israel for this due to several considerations My question is - how long after the surgery can I take a 12 hour flight back home without risking my reconstruction? I asked some patient in an international group and said they took a flight after two weeks, but reading online I see recommendation for six weeks so wondering about this

I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.
It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
