I would like to have a Liquid BBL. I saw an image that I liked and a medspa reximmencommended that I get 350 ML . I would like to ask if Liquid BBL is a solid procesudure for volumeVolume in the buttocks or is it a waste of money?

Thank you for your question and photo. A surgical BBL is mainly shaping and enhancing the buttocks with fat transfer, but to  achieve the best results, liposuction of the hips and waist is done at the same time. It is a plus/minus operation to achieve an aesthetic result. Non-surgical enhancement with fillers is possible, but it is temporary (needs to be repeated every 6 months to a year), the cost becomes prohibitive. You were recommended 350cc (175cc/side). A 1cc syringe of Hyaluronic acid is $700. Multiply that by 350cc! Lets say that one uses Radiesse 1.5cc syringe and is diluted to 4.5cc, that is 25 syringes at $750/syringe. You do the math. Liposuction 360 degrees and fat transfer to the buttocks is $12,000-15,000, one time, no repeat injection every year. Although the idea of avoiding surgery is attractive, the overall results are less than optimal.

A Liquid BBL can be a safe option when performed by an experienced, qualified provider using approved materials such as hyaluronic acid or biostimulatory fillers like Sculptra or Radiesse. It’s a good alternative for those who want to enhance volume and shape without undergoing surgery or significant downtime.

However, it’s important to understand that the results are temporary and subtle compared to a surgical BBL. Most fillers gradually absorb over time, so maintenance sessions are needed to preserve the results.

As for the 350 mL recommendation, that’s on the higher side and depends on your body shape, the filler type, and the results you’re hoping to achieve. It can be effective if done carefully, but safety and realistic expectations should always come first.

Overall, it’s not necessarily a waste of money—just a different approach with more temporary and natural-looking results.
