I have very crepey and discolored forarms due to years of sun damage . Would Fraxel help improve the crepeyness or os there a better procedure ?

Hi! Dr Peterson here - Yes. Fraxel laser can improve both the texture and discoloration from sun damage, but there are a few important points to know so you set the right expectations
Fraxel targets sun-damaged skin by stimulating collagen and resurfacing the upper layers, which can soften crepey skin and fade brown spots over a series of treatments. It works well, but results are gradual and often need multiple sessions spaced weeks apart.
For significant laxity, some patients will get even better improvement by combining Fraxel with non-ablative radiofrequency (e.g., Morpheus8) or microneedling RF, which boost collagen deeper below the surface. Intense pulsed light (IPL) is good for pigment but won’t tighten as much on its own.
Sun damage also raises skin cancer risk, so make sure a board-certified dermatologist examines the area first. Great sun protection after treatment will help keep improvements lasting.
