Different plastic surgeons, including oculoplastic surgeons have different approaches to how lower eyelids should be treated.
I recommend leading on the side of caution when it comes to having skin removed from the lower eyelids.
For ptosis repair an experienced oculoplastic surgeon may be your best option.
In the end, the formal training is not as important as actual skill and experience.
Consider having multiple consultations before selecting a provider.
During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of the before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics to your own.
