Hi doctors, I’m looking for professional input regarding a subtle facial asymmetry following facial trauma and surgery. I was in an accident and underwent zygomatic surgery on the right side only in October 2024. Healing is complete, and my face feels stable. However, I’ve noticed a mild but consistent asymmetry on my right midface/cheek compared to the left side. The difference appears to be related more to contour and projection rather than overall volume or width. I’m not seeking cosmetic enhancement or added fullness. I’m only wondering whether a very conservative, deep/structural hyaluronic acid filler approach could reasonably help improve balance on the right side — or if this type of post-trauma asymmetry is typically better left untreated. My main concerns are: • avoiding facial widening or puffiness • avoiding overcorrection • ensuring any filler approach would be appropriate given prior unilateral zygomatic surgery From a facial anatomy standpoint: • Is conservative cheek filler sometimes appropriate for unilateral post-trauma asymmetry like this? • Or would observation/no treatment usually be recommended when the asymmetry is subtle? Thank you for your time and insight.
