While I understand that there was a timeline relationship between your chemical processing and the appearance of this area of hair loss, without an in-person examination, no one can give you an answer as to the reason for your hair loss. A dermatologist can do a macroscopic exam and a biopsy of the area to evaluate for inflammatory and scarring alopecias. Once those have been ruled out, you may be a candidate for hair transplant into this area. I hope this helps.

It's not possible to make an accurate diagnosis from the photo. Please seek an in person consult in your local area and soon as possible, your entire scalp needs to be examined and the area of loss needs close in person exam to determine the cause and best solution. The sooner the diagnosis is made the better to potential prevent further loss.

You’ll want to see a dermatologist specializing in hair loss. The most likely is a secondary scarring alopecia but an up close examination is needed to confidently exclude other patchy hair loss issues (alopecia areata, etc) and well as true primary scarring alopecias.

If it is a secondary scarring alopecia, it may not grow back but various surgeries can be considered including excision and hair transplants.

This is complex. Be sure to get many opinions and have the entire scalp properly examined.
