Hard bumps on nose tip - could this be scar tissue? (Photo)

Question

It’s been a little over a year since my first rhino and since a month I noticed 2 hard bumps at the tip, they are a little painfull when I push on them. I didn’t have a graft placed during the operation + it was a closed rhino. Could this be scar tissue? It’s not that noticeable on the pictures though. Thank you all in advance!

Hello @Raisa vaes, thank you for your question and showing you pictures. It could be scar tissue or it could also be that the doctor used some sort of graft to make the nose look more elevated. I suggest that you have a check-up with the treating physician to clear up any doubts. Thank you for your question. The hard bumps you're describing appear to be what is known as greater alar cartilage and shouldn’t be a cause for concern. This is a natural feature of the nose and not a result of scar tissue. However, if they’re causing you discomfort or you don’t like the way your nose looks, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to better assess your concerns and provide an answer and solution that may work for you.

Most likely it is tip cartilage showing through the thin skin on the tip. I would not do anything. Your result looks really nice

What are the bumps on the tip of your nose? it appears that these “bumps“ are a protrusion of your lower lateral Cartlidges through what appears to be fairly thin skin. as such, they are a normal structure. I cannot tell from the photographs if they are in proper position, or if there is some asymmetry.
