3 weeks post op breast augmentation There is a small pimple like spot on the end of my incision. My PS had taken out a stitch in that area after I went in for my first check up. It's a little tender and feels hard. What could this possibly be? I will be scheduling an appt soon but wanted to know if any professionals have seen this or could ease my worry.
Answer: Small pimple like bump on end of incision A common technique for closing the most superficial layer of skin is called a subcuticular running stitch. This involves a knot which is placed at each end of the incision. Often this can be felt with a finger. If a stitch has become inflamed and the stitches removed, there may be some firmness at this area from the resulting inflammation. This may turn into scar tissue although one cannot tell for sure if it will persist as many changes occur in the first six months.

Answer: Spitting suture Since your surgeon already removed a stitch from there, I would hazard a guess that this is simply the aftermath of a spitting suture. It will heal in time. Best, Dr. Nazarian

Answer: 3 weeks post op, some advices: Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. Its too early to talk about final results with only 3 weeks post op. In my practice, after performing a Breast Augmentation I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry heavy weights to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling.Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-
