Drains after BBL. How long are they in for? And is removal painful?

I have never used a drain after liposuction in thousands of cases. I'm not quite sure what the rationale is behind drains in liposuction. Most patients have problems because of inadequate fluid so draining the fluid certainly doesn't help. This fluid should be absorbed by your body naturally. Best regards 

Hello dear!Thanks for the question and provided information as well.Not all doctor use drains for BBL, unless you do a tummy tuck. But usually they are remove depending on the amount of fluids you drain. And also they're not painful. (but remember that all patients are quite different).I recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your concerns and goals.Good luck :)

I do not routinely place drains for BBL so you should ask your surgeon what his criteria for removal are. Each doctor may be different.
