Will it be ok to side sleep after BL and BA?

Question

In general I’m not able to sleep on my back do to my spine being fused. So, I’m planning on side sleeping but everyone I telling me I HAVE to sleep on my back. I just reached out to my dr but I am interested in hearing from other Drs. Thank you

I tell all of my breast lift and augmentation patients that I would like them to sleep in whichever position they find most comfortable. I have not found that sleeping position negatively affected any of my breast lift/augmentation patients' cosmetic outcomes. Best of luck to you!

Generally, patients are recommended to sleep on their back for first week then can sleep on their side. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including wearing of bra and sleeping position) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.
It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

Yes, you can sleep on your side or in whichever position you feel most comfortable; this shouldn't affect your results.

In the longer term, you will be able to sleep on your side and prone. However, immediately after your procedure, your plastic surgeon will likely ask that you not sleep on your side or abdomen, for a period of time. He/she will have specific instructions for you.
