Hi Jerzygrl00!I am a Board-Certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon located in New York and New Jersey with a specialized focus on silicone and biopolymer removal. Over the years, I have dedicated my practice to safely addressing complications arising from these materials. Recognizing the unique challenges they pose, I developed a two-stage surgical excision process along with a reconstructive third stage. This approach is designed to ensure the most complete removal possible while minimizing risks and optimizing patient outcomes. Please give us a call (516) 279-2616 to schedule either a virtual or in-person complimentary consultation. My dedicated silicone coordinator will initiate and walk you through the entire process. Hello, Thank you for your question about who in New York and New Jersey can remove silicone from your buttocks. Personally, I do not know of any specific plastic surgeon. However, removing silicone from the buttock is not an easy and straight forward procedure. There are two accepted surgical procedures for the removal of illegal silicone in the buttocks. To effectively remove illegal silicone buttock injections, there is ultrasound-guided, VASER buttock liposuction and direct buttock excision. The ultra-sound guided, VASER liposuction removal procedure takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to complete depending on the amount of silicone and is performed under general anesthesia. The ultra-sound guided, VASER liposuction for silicone removal takes about 1 to 2 weeks to recover. Buttock silicone removal with direct excision is another alternative. Direct silicone buttock removal takes approximately 4 to 5 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. Direct silicone buttock removal recovery is about 2 to 3 weeks. I hope that I have answered your questions removing silicone from the buttock. Before you make any decisions regarding silicone removal from the buttock, I would suggest you seek consultation with an expert. Please seek an experienced, board-certified, plastic surgeon. Travel out of state if you must to find such a silicone removal expert. If you have any more questions regarding silicone removal from the buttock, intra-operative ultra-sound guided VASER assisted liposuction or plastic surgery in general, please contact my office. Silicone in the buttocks and soft tissue can cause inflammatory reactions. Our office specializes in the management of Karamanoukian Grade I-IV reaction in the soft tissue using minimally-invasive means. The first step is to identify the grade of soft tissue reaction and determine whether the tissue can withstand surgery. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
These materials must be removed by excision, and you want to avoid an extremely disfiguring surgery by going to an expert. Unfortunately, I perform these surgeries several times each week. This site has several ways to search for surgeons in your area.
