Fluid retention on lower back 3 weeks post BBL. Is it normal? (Photo)

Question

I went to my massagist and she mentioned that after the massages the fluid would go down but Everytime I went back it would be swollen again. It is this normal 3 weeks post bbl? Also it's not red but it does feel a little warm and I feel pressure when I bend down (uncomfortable to do so)

Swelling is one thing, a seroma is another. Swelling will take months to go away. .If you have a seroma it likely needs to be drained.

Seromas are common and should be aspirated. If your surgeon was a board certified plastic surgeon who operated on you at a certified outpatient facility and does a ton of lipo, go back and voice your concerns more emphatically, if not...see one who meets the criteria I mentioned.

What you are describing is a seroma. Yes, this is a known occurrence after aggressive liposuction with a BBL. This needs to be drained to avoid infection. You need to call your PS asap.

You should not be relying on the massage therapist to answer medical questions.
This is something you should discuss with your treating physician, hopefully a local board-certified plastic surgeon.
